8/28/08: Last time it was all about Otakon this time I have an report about Matsuricon that was last weekend here in Wrothington, Ohio!
I have to say I love this convention, because of a number of things-
stressful free- don't feel like I was rushed all the time etc. Which was very good. Since getting back from Otakon I felt that way maybe because Otakon had over 26,000 people there than previous years and I had to wait / merge my set-up and intros for both panels there. Matsuricon was my aid and helped me get over it!
Panel Schedule- Well organized and very helpful! I had good times for all 3 of my panels! The only problem that I had was during my PGSM panel was that I had to give my projector because of limited projectors, but I believe that could be fixed for next year. For the pass 2 years the convention hadn't had that problem^.^ Other than that each panel went very well!
Artist Alley- I was lucky of enough to go Thursday night before the con to pick my table (and didn't have a problem with losing my spot ^.^) and was able to sit next to all my friends. I happened to be in the main area for the artist alley / guest tables that was well traveled! But I think next year we all should have assigned tables that all the artists know where there at and know that they have a table. There were some problems Friday when some artists came in and thought they can take any tables and didn't know that a few have been taken. Other than that I had a great time. As for sales- (since this convention is a very small con about 600 (we do not know the final amount for this year- but for 2006: 200, 2007: 500) at least thats what some of us thought by Sunday.) I did not do so well... I made less than Otakon, which wasn't good. I thought my stuff would work, it did but there wasn't enough people there I guess.
*Makes more art and take commissions!*
Reports about my panels / my Dark Mercury Costume's Photoshoot!Naoko Takeuchi Fan Panel- I only had a few people show which is ok which me. I'm use to that, I like have some free one on one which the fans that come. At least for these fans they only knew that Takeuchi-senshi only created her Sailor Moon series and wasn't friendly with her other series and with the help of this panel they learned more then they ever had. I was able to read off all the last announcements from
Sailordees's "Moon Chase: The Legend Lives On" -a online Sailor Moon blog and played Toru "ToFu" Furuya's (Tuxedo Kamen) song- "Everlasting My Love" during the panel and the fans really like it! ^.^
PGSM Fan Panel- I've packed half of the room! Which was god and ok. I normally pack the room at this convention, I guess since the panel is in its 3 year in a room it could be why? Who knows. The panel went ok, until we got to the contest part... since some fans have seen ovnly a few episodes from the live action they did not know any of the attacks so (since we were able to have internet access) I let them view the attack videos from Otakon's panel. Those three fans did ok, but I just didn't have the audience for that contest. So I went through and called out ticket numbers and asked questions and asked people which character were there favorite. The first part of the panel I had help from my co-panlist(who I thought wasn't going to be there for the weekend which chance his mind and stayed which was cool!) who was there from the very first panel (Ohayocon 2005 ^.^). The second part was my friend- ~
kuroitenshi13 who helped hand out prizes! And I have to say all the fans that won the prize were very excited! Those donated artists should feel very happen for themselves! So to let you all donated artists know- on each donate art print out I've printed out your bios/website links on sticker page and place it very nicely on the back of each piece! So you all should get some feedback about the piece! Let me know! ^.^
Dark Mercury Costume's PhotoshootSince there wasn't that many pictures of me from Otakon or say not that many good ones... (grr side views) I asked my friend *
akicafe for an half hour photoshoot for my costume! I've got like over 140 great pictures. I'm going to go through them and post some of the best ones here in the gallery and on my

Tsukiyama-sama8/11/08: OO wow! I had a great time at Otakon this year! As you might already can tell in my gallery I have a picture of Kappei Yamaguchi and me! ^.^
Thursday: Pre-Reg! Well it looked like there were a lot more people there for pre-reg from when I went in 2005 and 2007^.^ Man we had to wait until after 7pm just to get in line to get our badges because before that the line was not moving at all. But that wasn't the only problem my friend, Yosenex (who is also an guest on my PGSM Panel) and me had a problem with our Pre-reg, which later we got fix!
Friday: Day of the Panels/Cosplay!!!
I have say that this day was a very busy day with cosplaying and 2 panels and falling down the stair and almost breaking something! Well like I say before going to Otakon that I was planning on cosplaying as Dark Mercury and which I did! In the morning I went to the first Sailor Moon photoshoot. It was fun, but it I did not get that many pictures on my camera nor Saturday's 2nd photoshoot so I'm relaying on others for pictures. I guess that what happens when you cosplay you don't get the time for taking the pictures. I guess I kind of miss that; no wondering why I haven't cosplay in such a long time!
Right before the PGSM panel in the afternoon I was on the way back to the hotel to pick up my laptop and panel stuff when I fell down the stairs with my Dark Mercury costume one >.<. I must have lose my footing. I have a BIG busie up and down my left leg and one big one on the back of my right leg too. I was lucky that I did not break anything ^.^ On to my panel-
Well we (myself, yosenex, Nick(Moon Jump), ~
kaligoddess , *
sakky-attack and ~
kungpow12345) all arrive around 1:30pm to meet before the panel, but to my big surprise that there was an hugh line (I'm telling you a ready big line) that went all the way down the hallway to around the corner! WOW! Now that was amazing!!!!
My PGSM fan panel went very well! We gave out all the frame/matted fanart that was donated from across the world-USA, United Kingdom/England, Japan, Philippines, Portugal, Germany, Chile, Canada and France! *All DA artists!!! Thank you so much! Everyone loved your art donations!!!!
Later in the day was my Naoko Takeuchi Fan Panel which I, yosenex, Nick(Moon Jump) and ~
kungpow12345 ran the panel. We filled half of the workshop room and the panel went very well. I have to say I ran this panel at Anime Punch 06, Matsuricon 06, 07 and never had this many people and have to say THANK YOU!
I hope everyone one like both panel. I love to hear feedback! As for next year I'm planning on opening the panel to a general Sailor Moon panel with manga, anime, musicals and live action information, but this is still open in the air. I'm also think of trying for Animazement for 2009 since Keiko Han (Queen Beryl/Luna/PGSM Luna) and Kotono Mitsuishi (Usagi) are both working on trying to get Naoko Takeuchi herself to come^.^ If that works out I'm so going to make Animazement my big con and bring my panels there. I might take a break from Otakon since I have been going there for 3 years in a roll, but who knows. I'll keep you all posted what I do.
Saturday Meet Kappei Yamaguchi!!!
OO my! Today was my lucky day and one of the most things that I will not forget! I had the chance to meet Kappei Yamaguchi (voice of Inuyasha, L, Boy-Type Ranma, Usopp and PGSM Artemis)!!! Though I did not get an autograph; I did get a chance to get a picture with him (*as seen in my gallery) and gave him 2 of my keychains- Inuyasha and L with my business card with my full address on the back just in case he wanted to send me an thank you card. Who knows... but it would be cool if I did get an thank you card^.^ Anyways I figure a picture is worth more than an autograph is my book, though having an autograph would be nice! ^.^
The rest of the day I went back to my table to see art. Which I have to say that today was one of my busy days! I meet alot of Artists that I've wanted to meet and get their artwork to. Also one of my friend- ~
ChocolateDivineDiva was there again this year and showed me around the Art Show and got me all excited about maybe doing the Art Show next year!
She also helped me win *
KrisCynical 's

that was in the art show this year! No one bidding on it so I ask ~
ChocolateDivineDiva if she could put a bid in for me because the art show was asking fro credit cards and I do not own one. I had the money one me ^.^
Sunday Last Day!
Didn't really do that much I went and try to sell more art at my table! Then I went home, which my flight was delay 1:30mins because there were storms up north in Rode Island where the plane was coming from. But we did make it out of Baltimore, MD just before the storms hit there which was good!
I'm back home and really haven't gotten over the weekend yet, but I'm already in Matsuricon mode now. I just to go through my art now to see what I have to stock up. I should have enough! Also since this con is a home con I get too see all my friends which I can not wait! I miss them!
OO also here are my Matsuricon panel times!!!
Naoko Takeuchi Fan PanelFriday, 1pm-2:30pm in Workshops
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Fan PanelSaturday, 3pm-5pm in Panel 2
Contests (Pose Re-Actor Contest, Ticket Drawing/Door Prizes etc.) though out the panel with fanart prints as the prizes (these fanart are the same/new ones like Otakon's panel)
Hana Yori Dango Live Action Fan PanelSunday, 2pm-4pm in Panel 2
OO I will be posting August Feature Artist sometime later this week. I'm kind of try right now, but I promise to post them as soon as I can! Also I will be making a DA artist list of who I saw at Otakon in the next update!
thats it for now!

9/16/07:
Matsuricon was awesome! I had a chance to meet my college friends- *
neondragon , ~
Suburban-Samurai , ~
SephVellius and some of my friends that I made over the years at different cons- ~
islington and ~
KinneyMcKee . I can't say I did that well with my art sells. Since this is a smaller con and it is it's second year most people stop by my table and said they loved my art others bought some. It seems at smaller con people are broke like me. ^^ I also have a story to tell you all! On Saturday night (9/8/07) while I was in ~
islington and ~
KinneyMcKee 's Yaoi Panel ~
islington (also Head of Artist Alley) notice that someone took over my table and her's. This guy had the gull to move my table aside to set up
his Photo Studios (Note- Do Not Support him or print out any of these pictures etc... ) to take pictures and maybe made some money (no one has found out yet weather he collected money or not) without getting any permission to use the space, so we had con security tell him to shut down and put everything back to place.
On a good note both my
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon "PGSM" Fan Panel and
Naoko Takeuchi Fan Panel went very well! All I have to say is for those who came THANK YOU! If you have any comments and suggestions for both of these panels feel free to let me know. I plan to return again next year and run both of these panels again + a new panel about Hana Yori Dango Live Actions (working title). This panel is about all the different live action versions of Hana Yori Dango and how close and different are they to the manga (this panel is still in the planning stages, but if you have any comments and suggestions Or like to be on the panel with me feel free to let me know.).
While I was at Maturicon here's all the DA artists that I met and signed my guestbook!
Of course my best friends!!!
My new friends/fellow new artists!

Also My 25th birthday went very well! I went to the House of Japan a Japanese Steakhouse restaurant for lunch. Also I receive a gift card to Barnes and Noble which I bought a few manga that day too. Today went I went back home My grandma's friend took us out to the Olive Garden for our birthdays! Which was pretty cool. Later this week my mother is coming up to Westerville to have a girls night out for my grandma and I birthdays. ^.^
Just Another ReminderUPDATE- You remember me mentioning about the "
Toei and ANN an official poll to vote for which anime that Toei should release over here (US) on Video On Demand (VOD)" well the poll end and the result are in and guess what?! Sailor Moon won!!! By 2535 out of 3979 votes thats 63.7%. Congratulations!!! The second place was Digimon with 1641 out of 3979 votes thats 41.2%.
Don't forget that I'm still open for commissions and I'm also selling my prints here on DA and I have a cafepress store too. To find out more information check out my
Lilly's Store Page .
thats it for now!

Tsukiyama-samaOtakon Con Report: featuring the PGSM Fan Panel report too!!!!8/3/07: Wow Otakon was great! I really enjoyed my time there! This was my second time attending Otakon, which made the second time around the best ever! Why?! Well this time I arrive a day earlier on Wednesday since the people that I was riding up with were on staff and needed to be there earlier. I manage to see the behind the screens of Otakon before the con begin on Friday (Pre-Con Thursday). Which was pretty cool and neat at the same time. I was also able to walk around with my new friend, Rachael who was also on staff in the Harbor Mall. Last time I was at Otakon which was in 2005 I did not had time to walk over there to see all the shops. I'm glad that I was able to walk over there since the hotel that I was staying at for Wednesday was right next to it. ^.^ Which was pretty cool.
Day of the Pre-Con (Thursday)Since I was already there in Baltimore the night before I send the day at the Harbor Mall before walking over with some of my friends to check in at pre-reg that evening. This year the check-in was up stairs on the 3rd floor of the convention center. 2 years ago I remember it was down stairs on the first floor next to the dealers room. I was luck to be with =
B2Topaz and her family since we were able to walk up to the booths to check-in than wait in line because of her 15 month old little boy, Max aka Baby Naruto. We were also able to get stickers to use for the elevators. ^.^ That came in handy because I need to use the elevators to luge all my art back and forward for the hotel each day.
Also this year we were able to check-in for our artist table in the artist alley. From previous years you would need to wait for the next day (Friday) to check-in in the morning. So this was a plus!
Well things were looking good until I'd put out my pocket guide and program book to find that my panel "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Fan Panel" was not listed in it. I also checked the separate sheet to see if they mention it there and still nothing. So that night my cell phone was ringing off the hock because it. That would mean that I would have to wait up early and head to Panel Ops to see why it wasn't listed and find out what I can do so fans would know about the panel.
Days of the Con (Friday-Sunday)After finding out find that the panel missed the printers. The panel head told me that she would forward my panel information onto the info desk and she also allow me to post a sign on my artist table meaning about the panel too. So what I did set up a sign at my table and went to both Sailor Moon photoshoots and pass the word about the panel!
As for my artist table! The artist alley this year was awesome! I was able to meet alot of artists that I've been wanting to meet for sometime now!!! Specially *
strawberrygina of "Red String"! She was so nice to talk to! She came over to my table a few times and we chat and I went to her and chat and bought of couple things! I plan to soon have her do a commission for me (but I need to wait until I have enough money save out first).
My table was located right next to my best friend *
neondragon , my con friends ~
Urd-chan and her girls of Pink Door Inc- *
kojika *
himeko ~
Sakura85 and ~
plnunn of
Bishonen Works. Just a couple table island over my friends/panelists ~
kaligoddess and =
B2Topaz had a table each. ^.^
Here's a list of of other artists that I meet while I was at Otakon and got their autographs/bought a couple of their works too:

(his art was there, but he wasn't. His friends from snafu-comic.com was there selling his and their work!)
Pink Door Inc-

and Edo Elric, Sporkninja of
Gravity DollI also had a Deviantart guestbook at my table for people to sign in. I manage to get 3 pages worth of deviantart artists that walked by my table that either had a table there at the con or not. Very Cool! I'm in the process of check them all out! Here is the list, so feel free to check them out!

and
Thanks to all that stopped by my table and bought my art and commission me too!!! I really appropriate it!
On Saturday- before going down to be at my table for most of the day. I took in 2 panels and went to the Sailor Moon 2nd photoshoot. Before the photoshoot I had the chance to attend Tokyopop's panel to asked them about the renewing licensing for Sailor Moon and what they told me at the panel is that they are still working getting the renewing licensing for Sailor Moon and once they get an approval they would love to release Sailor Moon in the new style which is referring to the second edition of Sailor Moon and use of the original names. See I took an example of their old release Sailor Moon volume and the first volume of the second edition with me to the panel and shown it to them. (In the video over on ANN you only hear me asking the question not holding up the books to show them) I also asked them about translating her other series and maybe her artbooks and (after I held of my Infinity artbook and my copy of Toki*Meca volume 1) they said that they are thinking about it.
I'm just glad to hear that they are still working on getting Sailor Moon! Ok about a set date. There is not set date. Since Tokyopop told us at the panel what they planned to release the rest of this year and next year. I only mention in the video that Nick took of me to look for 2009 to 2010 + for any news and keep on supporting Tokyopop because you just never know what will happen.
So after the panel I quickly went done to the Sailor Moon photoshoot and shared this information with everyone! Which everyone was please to hear! I'd stay there for a little bit more to take pictures and then head to the artist alley which I stay for most of the night and also held our pre-panel meeting to go over things before the panel the next moring.
Day of the panel/last day of the con (Sunday)Since the panel was at 9am we all needed to be in the convention center an hour before. Which didn't work that way since the convention center didn't open until 8:30am. So we were there right at 8:30am and I wasn't able to wait I yell in and said that I needed to be up on the 4th floor for my 9am panel and they let me in very quickly. I think I lost maybe 5 pounds before starting the panel because I was ran to the panel ops (which was on the 3rd floor) then back the panel room (which was on the 4th floor and there is only one way to the 4th floor). Anyways we manage to start the panel 5 mins pass 9am.
We start out with ~
kaligoddess (aka Kali) talking about the series and some of the cast. She also played a power slide show of some pictures that she put together. We were getting ready to show some of the clips, but her laptop couldn't handle the connection with the projector / screen. It would only play some footage very slow. It didn't seem to mind the fans that was there. They found some the footage very funny, specially with Keiko's (Rei/Mars) taking off her bathrobe in slow motion for one of her model videos. ^.^ Moving on Yosenex talked a little about the book that he worked on "Warriors of Legend" and he also showed off some Sailor Moon attacks with one of his wands! Which was very cool. Through out the panel both =
B2Topaz and I held up some the PGSM merchandise and play with some of them too ^.^ ! The last 15 mins of the panel we held the PGSM trivia contest and held alot of prizes.
I have to say this panel, since it was my 4th time running it turn out very well! I hope everyone that attend enjoy the panel. If you like to give feedback your more and welcome to email at lilly.peacecraft@gmail.com and let me know. I love getting feedback. From the feedback I take and use for future panels that I run.
Besides running my panel and meeting so of artists that wanted to meet I was not able to meet so of the special guest that I wanted to meet since I was wrap up with being in the artist alley. I was luck to step out of the alley and visit Peter S. Beagle the author of "The Last Unicorn". I'm so glad I was able to meet and talk to him. He even sign my book!!! I asked his publisher and friend, Connor about the live action Last Unicorn. I found out that the company that is planning on releasing the live action has really mess up the script and creating their own version of the Last Unicorn than sticking to the original story. I suggest those fans of the Last Unicorn please check out this website for more information
http://www.conlanpress.com/youcanhelp/ ! I've also help speak out --> (I'm listed as Tyler, Meg Westerville, Ohio: Your welcome to read my message)
http://www.conlanpress.com/html/fans_speak.html . For more updates check out Peter S. Beagle unofficial website at
http://www.peterbeagle.com/Anyways I had an awesome time and can't wait for next year! My next convention will be next month at
MatsuriCon otherwise known as my birthday con! I will be 25 on the 11th of September and Matsuricon will be the weekend before the 11th on the 7-9th!!! I'm so exist!
One last thing for those want to see pictures from the convention please check out

I've missed Otakon this year, but I do plan on attending next year! Last time I was there was in 2005, 2007-2008. Otakon is one of my conventions that I want to attend each year, but this year I just didn't have the extra funds. As 2010 comes around keep an eye on my journals about information about my Artist Alley status and Panels Status there. Maybe we can meet up there?
